Annual Members Trip to Penland, NC
Join us for our annual members trip to Penland School of Crafts in Penland, NC!
When: Saturday, June 2, 2018
Cost: $40 per person
(includes transportation and lunch)
Members will travel to visit Penland School of Crafts, the international center for craft education dedicated to helping people live creative lives. The cars will depart from The Mint Museum Randolph (2730 Randolph Road) at 8:00am and will return to the same location around 7-7:30pm.
Participants will first visit Penland School of Craft's gallery with an introduction from Gallery Director, Kathryn Gremley, before visiting Shane Fero’s studio. Shane is one of the preeminent flameworkers in the glass blowing community. Following a catered lunch, participants will be taken on a guided tour of Penland and will visit the Resident Artists’ studios at the Barns.We'll end the day visiting internationally known sculptor Lisa Clague’s nearby studio before heading back to the Penland gallery for a cocktail reception to open the first of the season exhibition.

About Penland School of Crafts
Penland School of Crafts is a center for hands-on, intensive craft education with a variety of two-week workshops and longer concentrations during the year, with much of the activity occurring during the summer. Students of all ages come from across the country and around the world. Workshops include books and paper, clay, painting, metals, wood, glass, textiles, photography, printmaking, and more.
